The Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project (BLMP) envisions a world where no one is forced to give up their homeland and where all Black LGBTQIA+ people are free and liberated. We build and center the power of Black LGBTQIA+ Migrants to ensure the liberation of ALL Black people through Organizing, Base-Building, Strategic Communications, and Long- Term Viability and Sustainability.

We build power, community, and knowledge in the U.S. while challenging the role that the United States plays globally in creating the conditions that force us to leave our homelands in the first place. We envision a world without borders, rendering the word “ immigrant” obsolete. A world where all Black people and our loved ones have housing, bodily autonomy, health, and the ability to move and travel freely, with dignity, free of criminalization, anti-Black racism, misogyny, and all forms of transphobia and homophobia.

This Pride Month, we are grateful to all the ways you continue to show up for BLMP and our community. Your support for our organization, through donations, resources, time, and engagement, has meant a great deal, and we could not do this without you.

In a time where resources for Black liberation work are steadily shrinking, we know our greatest strength is in each other. We’re calling on you: our community, our family, to help us keep this work strong and thriving. Whether by becoming a monthly sustainer, making a one-time donation, or sharing our message with your networks, your support is not just helpful, it is necessary for our survival and our collective liberation.

Pride is a time to celebrate the joy, beauty, and resilience of LGBTQIA+ people, and it is also rooted in a legacy of resistance. Pride was born from protest, led by Black and Brown trans women and queer people fighting police violence and systemic oppression. As we honor this legacy, we remember that true liberation is not just about visibility, but about justice, safety, and freedom for our most vulnerable. For us at BLMP, Pride is a reminder that our identities, our stories, and our existence as Black LGBTQIA+ migrants are inherently revolutionary.
