50 Years of Fabulous recounts the rich history of the Imperial Council, one of the oldest and most influential LGBT organizations in the world. From its genesis as a critical public space for the LGBT community to its vital role in the advocacy for LGBT human and civil rights, the film documents the full scope of the organization’s historical evolution up to its contemporary struggle in finding relevance, both in the wake of the social progress it has helped to foster, and in light of a newly empowered Right-Wing political coalition committed to rolling back a half-century of civil rights achievements.
50 Years of Fabulous is now in post-production, and the team needs to raise no less than $30,000 to complete the film. Expenses include archival clearances, composer fees, finishing work with an editor, sound edit and final mix, online and color correction, and final delivery and master of the film for festivals and distributors.
Executive producer David Lassman, director Jethro Patalinghug, and producers Marc Smolowitz and Donna Sachet are all hard at work on finishing the film, and we can't do it without your help and support.
