Founded in 2002, The Arts and College Preparatory Academy (ACPA) is a tuition-free, public, charter high school located on the east side of Columbus, Ohio and serves students in grades 9-12. The 2015-2016 school year is ACPA’s fourteenth year as a public charter school in the state of Ohio. It is a model charter school that combines rigorous academics and interdisciplinary arts instruction within a safe culture and climate. The school has a diverse population of 400 students with wait lists in each grade. Fifty-five percent (55%) of ACPA students come from families living below the federal poverty line. The 400 students are served by 20 full time faculty and 10 supporting staff.
ACPA is a community committed to safety and acceptance, high academic achievement, a commitment to the arts, and college preparedness. ACPA was founded upon a strong “no bullying” principle and offers selected intervention programs to encourage continued commitment to ACPA’s vision and mission.
From 2011 – 2014, ACPA has been the highest-ranking charter high school in the State of Ohio based on standardized state performance measures. ACPA is consistently rated in the top 10 schools in Franklin County, out-performing many local urban and suburban schools. ACPA has earned all A’s and B’s on the State of Ohio Report Card.
