About Charleston Pride
Our mission is to promote the visibility of the LGBTQ community in Charleston and the greater Southeast region. We strive to highlight the uniqueness and diversity of our community through distinct events throughout the year promoting our history and culture. Charleston Pride seeks to educate society, honor our heritage, promote our culture, and celebrate our people.
Founded in 2010, Charleston Pride is the largest gathering of LGBTQ individuals in the South Carolina Lowcounty. With over 4,000 attendees, Charleston Pride attracts over 200 parade participants and festival exhibitors each year.
Since our inception we have progressed from a one-day parade and festival into a week-long celebration featuring an array of events and gatherings which demonstrate the culture and diversity of the LGBTQ community. The annual Charleston Pride Guide publication documents the annual celebration and has grown from a 10 page booklet into a 60 page publication with over 5,000 copies distributed throughout the Southeast region.
