Support COMMON SPACE on Give OUT Day! Each donation of $10 puts us on a leaderboard with other organizations. Last year, we won first place in the Small-Size Organizations Serving People of Color category raising $7,425 in 24 hours. Read more below of our impact and what the funds will go towards.
On April 2, 2019, COMMON SPACE celebrates two years of operations. In a short amount of time, we have become the go to safe space for our LGBT+/Queer communities. Our space is all about creating a more equitable Fresno. In December 2018, we expanded our physical space from 1,200 square feet to over 6,000 square feet allowing organizations such as: GSA Network, Trans-e-motion, Fresno Area Transgender & Nonconforming Friends, the Fresbians, Fresno Rainbow Pride and Fresno State Women Studies classes. We assist all people in finding services ranging in: homeless resources, food distributions, suicide and most importantly making people feel like they belong and can thrive in this community we call home.
By donating to COMMON SPACE on Give Out Day, you will make a difference by supporting a much needed resource. Our demographic of folks who come in to utilize our space for programs, services and refuge range from 7 to 77 (as disclosed). With our community partnerships, we are the home to two Trans support groups, facilitator trainings, a Latinx Gathering, #Out4MentalHealth (a statewide policy change effort for mental health equity), an alcohol/drug free Art Night. HIV testing and soon an LGBT+ Resource Center. We also host the only Drag Story Time event for our rural community. P.S. We hosted the Inaugural QueerOut Awards Gala, a black tie recognition event, (planned in three months) for over 400 people.
Support COMMON SPACE and we will continue to empower our community to be confident for today, and the future.
