FIGHT HATE IN EVERY STATE!
Since inauguration, our communities have been faced with challenge after challenge as 45 puts his hate into action. Local and state legislation is following suit, with almost 100 anti-LGBT bills popping up in state legislatures across the country. While the political climate and harsh implications of it leave us with a heavy burden, we cannot and will not stand idly by while our communities are being attacked.
Right now, we need to support one another, and build a larger movement to organize against the injustices being enacted across the country. Together, we can resist the attacks on our loved ones, but only if we come together.
In light of proposed cuts to arts programming, it is more critical than ever that we find creative ways to financially support arts organizations and grassroots organizing. At the same time, it’s imperative that we unite with all oppressed peoples, and reinvigorate a movement that stands for all. We must be careful to sustain ourselves and the movement while we organize against strategic and destructive attacks. As allies of queer and transgender people, especially queer and transgender people of color, it is up to us to do everything we can to fight for and with those most vulnerable in the LGBTQ+ community. As The Change Project gears up for four years of organizing, we need your help.
We are seeing financial cuts to important programs and projects that protect marginalized people and the Earth. Now, more than ever, it is imperative to raise funds (a radical redistribution of wealth!) to support the work that LGBTQ organizers are leading across the country, especially in the South and Midwest.
Rise Up America, The Change Project’s newest policy-based initiative, will help us to fight hate at the local and state level by telling stories and building coalitions. We need your help to continue our tireless fight against hate and intolerance!
Together, we will organize to defeat hate like never before, and we are glad to have you with us in this fight. Onward!
