#ResistWithUs and double your impact today!

Gender Justice is a small and mighty nonprofit on a mission to BREAK DOWN GENDER BARRIERS. Gender bias and stereotypes are at the heart of transgender & LGBQ discrimination. With your support, we use litigation and policy advocacy to destroy the barriers and uphold basic human rights—regardless of any client’s ability to pay.

We are busier than ever. We need your help more than ever. And with our $1,000 donor match, your gift goes farther than ever. Our phone lines and file drawers are full of folx directly impacted by the Trump administration’s anti-LGBTQ initiatives. Schools, healthcare providers, and more are hiding behind the administration and pretending that civil rights laws don’t protect LGBTQ people from discrimination.

We disagree. And we won’t back down.

On #GiveOUTDay every dollar makes a difference to an #LGBTQ community under attack. Here are some examples of current work your gift will support today:

#ResistWithUs as we challenge the misguided view of who has the right to health care.

The Trump administration’s discriminatory health care agenda has included appointing an anti-LGBTQ ideologue to head the civil rights division of the Department of Health and Human Services

Gender Justice already successfully argued in a Minnesota federal court that Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act prohibits sex, race, age, or disability discrimination by health programs.

Still, there are insurance companies acting as if they don’t have to cover gender affirming care.

We won’t back down.

We are actively litigating two health care coverage cases. Both clients were denied a basic right to healthcare, and both suffered serious physical, emotional, and financial consequences from it. One client had to pay out-of-pocket for a more expensive insurance plan because her employer plan categorically excluded transgender health care. Our other client’s minor child was denied care under her employer’s insurance plan, forcing her to pay out of pocket for her son’s care.

#ResistWithUs to ensure that health care is available to everyone, regardless of gender.

#ResistWithUs as we challenge the misguided view of who has the right to be safe in school.

The Trump administration has turned its back on transgender, gender nonconforming, and non-binary students in schools. Gender Justice continues to fight for transgender student rights.

Last year, we successfully resolved a case for a transgender kindergartener who was so harshly discriminated against while she was transitioning, she was driven out of her charter school. As part of the settlement, we secured policy changes at the school to ensure an authentically supportive environment for all trans and gender nonconforming students.

Still, there are schools acting as if they don’t have to treat LGBTQ students with dignity and respect.

We won’t back down.

We are actively fighting for a mother and her transgender son against a high school with a history of failure to protect LGBTQ students from harassment and bullying. In this case, the student was denied access to the locker room matching his gender identity, which took a toll on his day-to-day social life as well as his involvement in sports. #ResistWithUs to ensure that restrooms and locker rooms are not segregated based on the preferences of anti-LGBTQ parents and students.

#ResistWithUs and double your impact today!

If you believe in the groundbreaking work Gender Justice does, GiveOUT Day is the perfect time to show your support with a gift. Every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 by a generous donor.
