Sarah’s hair is always perfect and her nails are done in the latest style. If you encountered her on the street, you would think that Sarah was just an average young woman. But she has been homeless for nearly eight months.

Sarah came to Georgia to find love but instead of a happily ever after, she ended up living in a motel and working two jobs. Even that wasn’t enough to cover basic living expenses and she became homeless which caused her to lose both jobs. She tried living with a friend who remembered her from before she began to transition. It became a tense situation when he started expressing a confusing mix of romantic interest and issues with her transition. Calling shelter after shelter, she finally found LNFY and has been flourishing ever since.

Sarah is in LNFY’s transitional housing and has a job, working on finding her own place and becoming the beautiful woman that she always knew she was. She also wants a degree in small business management so that she can one day own her own boutique. Stronger than ever, Sarah’s motto is, “Never let anyone tell you who you can or can't be or what you can or can't do.”

At the heart of all of our programs is a client-centered approach leveraging community partnerships to improve access and continuity of care for hard-to-reach population of homeless and at-risk youth.
