PFLAG Mission Statement
PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed, inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
By meeting people where they are and collaborating with others, PFLAG realizes its vision through:
Support for families, allies and people who are LGBTQ
Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and challenges facing people who are LGBTQ.
Advocacy in our communities to change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ
PFLAG provides an opportunity for confidential dialog about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human dignity.
Meetings are open to all and are completely confidential. What is said here stays here! Confidentiality is important to us for one reason or another, and at all times we respect the rights of others.
We are here because we have a common bond – a gay relative or friend. We welcome all - at whatever stage they are in their coming out journey. We realize that we cannot meet the needs of everyone at every meeting and every meeting is a bit different in its makeup because of the people, the concerns, and even current issues. But we welcome all and hope you will return again. Each of us gains strength by your presence.
