Every day at Rainbow Community Center, we create an environment that fosters strength and self-assurance for those we serve. The hundreds of community members who walk into the center every year find validation and comfort in each other that helps them survive and flourish. Our counseling program, food pantry, youth and senior activities provide hope to those most at-risk in our community. In providing our community members a place to be themselves, we cast off the constraints that the world imposes.
Help take LGBTQ philanthropy to the next level! Give OUT Day is upon us, and we invite you to join us in changing the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, people living with HIV and AIDS, and other vulnerable community members in need of your support by donating to the Rainbow Community Center for Give OUT Day!
Give OUT Day debuted in 2013 as a new, groundbreaking 24-hour giving day and in just three years has raised awareness about the need to support LGBTQ nonprofits like the Rainbow Community Center. This year, we hope to continue to increase our community support! With your help, together we can make Give OUT Day on April 20th a success for our agency and our community! Whether you make a gift this year, or help by spreading the word about Give OUT Day to your friends and social networks – your support will make all the difference. Horizons Foundation will again be offering special grant awards to the top performing Bay Area organizations on Give OUT Day. Every donation counts! We hope we can count on you again to help us build a happier, healthier, and better-supported LGBTQ community in Contra Costa County by donating on April 20th.
Help support the Rainbow Community Center and the work we do every day with these three easy steps!
Step 1: Donate anytime before April 20th!
Every donation helps us continue to build community and promote well-being among LGBTQ people and our allies, and for that we thank all of you for your continued support.
Step 2: Ask your Community
Personally ask three people in your circle to support the Rainbow Community Center by donating to Give OUT Day themselves.
Step 3: Spread the Word

Links to easily share this fundraising page on some of your favorite social media sites can be found in the top of the page. By sharing our campaign with your network of friends, family, and colleagues, you will be helping ensure that the Rainbow Community Center continues to thrive.
Your Give OUT Day contribution helps us continue to build the Rainbow Community Center and thereby maintain the safety of community members through HIV testing, reducing isolation amongst LGBTQ youth and seniors, treating the mental health needs that result from living in a rejecting culture, and joining together to build a better more inclusive world for all LGBTQ people. And not only that - your contribution celebrates ourselves, each other, and our amazing community.
Please reach into your hearts again this year, and reach out to your local LGBTQ Community. Your donations transform lives here in Contra Costa County, and for that we are so very grateful.
About the Rainbow Community Center
The Rainbow Community Center (RCC) is the only organization in Contra Costa County that is solely focused on serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community; our current priorities are to build services for LGBT youth, seniors, people living with HIV/AIDS and to develop community building efforts that will diminish the sense of isolation and promote greater acceptance of all LGBTQ people.
Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive and respectful environment for LGBTQ people of all ages, socio-economic status, races, cultures and religions. We strive to create services and activities that will promote the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of our community by providing professional services, peer support, referral services, social opportunities and educational programs of interest to our community as well as to the community at large.
The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County envisions a society that embraces acceptance, safety and equality for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County (RCC) builds community and promotes well-being among Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) people and our allies.
The Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County began in 1992 as a satellite office of the Berkeley-based Pacific Center and became an independent nonprofit organization in 1996. Our programs are designed to promote community involvement through volunteerism and service.
Our Service Aim
RCC fills a unique need by providing a safe, clean and sober space for LGBTQ people to interact, network, and become active members of the community. RCC offers many programs and services that benefit the physical and mental health of the LGBTQ community, but the importance of social activities to the well-being of LBGTQ people cannot be understated. Social support reduces the sense of isolation and depression for LGBTQ people and promotes pride and self esteem and creates a sense of community in a space free of homophobia.
