The Midwest Institute for Sexuality and Gender Diversity is an all-volunteer, grassroots nonprofit dedicated to empowering students of diverse sexualities and genders to create sustainable change; leading higher education colleagues in relevant and inclusive practices; and advancing knowledge of sexuality and gender through advocacy and expansive programming.

Through our flagship program, MBLGTACC, we partner annually with students, campus groups, and higher education professionals to host the nation’s largest conference for queer and trans+ college students. For the entire lifecycle of the conference planning process, we provide direct professional development and continuous mentorship that builds student organizers’ skills, creativity, and confidence. Fundraising is a key piece of the planning team's work, but the conference's success and consistent popularity continue to raise the bar on the levels of financial support required to make it all possible.

Through our future initiatives, we aim to adapt our partnership model to support existing work in the region, collaboratively develop new and innovative programs that meet emerging needs, and continue centering our region’s most marginalized every step of the way.

As an all-volunteer, grassroots team of young people, every member of our team has a full-time job outside of their work with the Institute. And while we gladly give of our time to the Institute each month and support MBLGTACC across the organization, we must also take time away from our jobs to dedicate ourselves to this mission we love. Already, we've seen important improvements in our ability to meet the needs of MBLGTACC student planners and those of our organization as a whole, including through a growing suite of resources and web products built in-house that have continued to pay dividends.

The Institute relies on individual donors, in part, to make this possible. We need your help. Will you support the Institute in connecting, educating, and empowering queer and trans+ students in the Midwest?
