Recently, a young person wrote into The Trevor Project saying: “The day I called Trevor changed my life forever. Thank you for what you did for me, for what you do for LGBTQ youth, and for what you’re doing for the world. You all are my heroes.”
The Trevor Project is the leading organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. Our digital crisis services allow us to reach youth in their environment and when support is needed the most, via online message (TrevorChat) and text (TrevorText). These services are currently available six hours a day, with TrevorChat operating seven days a week and TrevorText three days a week. We are in the process of expanding Text to match Chat’s availability, and plan to expand service for all digital crisis services to 24 hours a day, seven days a week by end of 2018.
On Give OUT Day, make a pledge to stand with The Trevor Project. Help us to continue our lifesaving work so that this year, we can:
• Complete more than 8,000 chats.
• Complete six digital service counselor trainings and graduate 90 new counselors.
• Answer at least 85% of all suicidal chats within 5 minutes.
• Maintain chat service 7 days a week, 6 hours each day.
