This Way Out: The International LGBT Radio Magazine
is the only
internationally distributed weekly queer radio program, airing on over 200 local community radio stations and satellite outlets around the world, and available via podcast. Overnight Productions
has always been committed to providing the program to broadcasters and individual listeners at no charge
because we believe that stations in areas where the open voices of LGBT people are most needed are often the ones that can least afford to pay. This Way Out
has won awards from the U.S. National Federation Of Community Broadcasters and the Radio and Television News Association, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Parents, Families and Friends Of Lesbians and Gays (P-FLAG), the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) - Los Angeles, and Tupilak (Nordic area LGBT cultural workers).
The half-hour magazine-style program leads off each week with NewsWrap
, a summary of some of the major news events in or affecting the LGBTQ community. It’s hard to find as comprehensive a look at queer-related news from a global perspective anywhere else!
And there’s more!
In-depth news features
Interviews with authors, activists and thinkers
Music by LGBTQ artists
And still more!
This Way Out special collectors’ productions include:

This Way Out
is a primarily volunteer operation
, with dedicated contributors who donate their time and skills in service to the community.
Funding for This Way Out
has always come from foundation grants and individual contributions, along with a few voluntary
carriage fee donations from affiliate stations, not
from corporate underwriting or commercial sponsorship. We’re proud of the way we’ve been able to help fuel the consciousness-raising conversations that defeat homophobia and pave the way for LGBT liberation. We hope you will fuel the on-going production and distribution of this important program by helping us reach our annual donor fundraising goal of $7000!
