STAND WITH AMERICA'S NEXT GENERATION, SO THEY CAN STAND ON THEIR OWN.
In America, it is estimated that up to 1.6 million youth are homeless each year and that up to 40% of them identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT). Yet, LGBT youth make up just 7% of the general youth population. The True Colors Fund is working both proactively and reactively to address the issue and ultimately reduce the disproportionate percentage from 40% to none.
The True Colors Fund works to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth, creating a world in which young people can be their true selves.
People often think that, because they don’t work at a shelter or service provider, they don’t have a role to play in the effort to end LGBT youth homelessness. The reality is: Everyone can make a difference! We invite you to join us for Give OUT Day 2015!
