Black & Pink National is thrilled to be completing the first stage of our Opportunity Campus build out!

We hope to finish construction so we can expand our established housing services in order to provide safe, affirming and beautiful housing for system-impacted youth between the ages of 19 and 24. With the support of the only Black woman-owned real estate development company in Nebraska, we have created an absolutely beautiful space that will include wraparound services, access to mental health support, community programming, and most importantly, safe and affirming housing for eight people. With your support, we can open in 2023 and share this intentional healing space with our community. Your donation will be used to complete construction and purchase furniture, bathroom fixtures, washers, dryers and more. We want to craft home, and everything that word means, for our people, many of whom have never had a space of their own before.

Black & Pink National is a prison abolitionist organization dedicated to abolishing the criminal punishment system and liberating LGBTQIA2S+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS who are affected by that system through advocacy, support, and organizing. All of our programming is developed with the intention of starving the prison-industrial complex and building joyous, radical and safe queer community.

What is the Opportunity Campus?

The Opportunity Campus is a housing and community space in Omaha, Nebraska for LGBTQIA2S+ youth and young adults who are system-impacted. We understand system-impacted to include individuals who have been impacted by such violent carceral systems as incarceration, detention, foster care, and family surveillance.

This initiative will provide housing, wrap around support services, mental health support, daily drop-in services (such as hot meals, showers, food pantry, and laundry), and community programming to system-impacted LGBTQIA2s+ youth, young adults, and their families. All services at the Opportunity Campus will be provided at no-cost to our residents and members.

An Update on Our Capital Campaign

We need to raise $150,000 to complete the first stage of development at Opportunity Campus. Black & Pink National simply cannot raise these funds alone – We are relying on the strength of our community to achieve the development of this necessary space! Please visit our Capital Campaign page to learn more about Opportunity Campus and our progress.
