It's Giving Tuesday!!! Read on to find out what we are doing here in Virginia!

Casa BruMar Foundation has been supporting and advocating for LGBTQIA+ youth and the community overall for almost five years! 

• We offer two Educational Assistance Grant Programs for those LGBTQIA+ youth who may need help finishing their high school diploma or GED. We can also assist with applying for trade schools and certificate programs. These programs are available across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Apply here: Education Assistance Grants
• We have a 4-year scholarship program called "Rise Up" which will be open to LGBTQIA+ students (aged 18-25) across the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2024. Find out more here: Rise Up
•  We also help anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community who is looking for resources or support and connect them with the appropriate agencies. We have noticed an increase in need within the Trans community specifically over the past four years.
• We provide crisis intervention training (CIT) to local law enforcement. We also provide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) training to first responders, and other government agencies in their efforts to be more inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community both within their organizations and when dealing with the public.

Our long-term goal is to build the first LGBTQIA+ community center in Northern Virginia. And that dream will become a reality in 2026, thanks to Greater Prince William Health Center of Woodbridge. 

Your Giving Tuesday donations will go towards supporting our operating budget for 2026. This includes funds for our clients in financial need. To run a bare-minimum symposium will cost around $5000. To cover our minimum overhead (PO Box, Zoom, Website, printing, mailing, 5 in-person outreach events, etc.) is also around $5000. And we will need to do some renovations to the space where our community center will be opened! So our goal this Giving Tuesday is to raise $20,000.
