Equality Virginia

Equality Virginia (EV) is the leading advocacy organization in Virginia seeking equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people.

Virginia is a state in which LGBTQ+ people – every demographic, race, ethnicity, zip code, and experience – are valued and thriving.

Equality Virginia confronts systemic inequities to liberate the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination and oppression.

Every dollar we raise throughout May for Give OUT Day allows us establish a rapid response fund to adapt or pivot our work when met with unanticipated, time-sensitive opportunities or threats to our movement building work and organizing conditions. Through this fund, we can resource time-sensitive projects including community organizing and mobilization, healing justice work, transformative storytelling, direct action, and more.
