Fair Wisconsin Education Fund

Fair Wisconsin Education Fund works to build a fair, safe, and inclusive Wisconsin for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people by advancing, achieving, and protecting LGBTQ+ civil rights through education, movement capacity building, grassroots organizing, and civic engagement. These efforts are designed to educate the general voting public, promote an engaged and effective LGBTQ+ community, and better inform policymakers on issues of importance to LGBTQ+ Wisconsinites.

This year, Fair Wisconsin is hoping to raise at least $5,000 for Give Out Day to support our year-round work on behalf of LGBTQ+ Wisconsinites!

Your contribution during the month of June will help fuel our efforts to modernize state non-discrimination laws to include gender identity and expression, fully implement marriage equality and family recognition, promote health equity and economic justice, defend against anti-LGBTQ+ legislative attacks, and so much more.

It's a frightening time to be LGBTQ+ in America. We are witnessing an onslaught of anti-LGBTQ+ actions from the federal government, and strong advocacy and protections at the state level have never been more important for the LGBTQ+ community. All of us at Fair Wisconsin remain committed to promoting positive change and building a Wisconsin where all LGBTQ+ youth and adults can thrive.

Last year, we successfully blocked every piece of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation introduced in the Wisconsin State Legislature, including a ban on gender-affirming care and a bill that would have barred transgender youth from participating in school sports. This year, those same anti-LGBTQ+ bills are back, and we are again organizing to stop them. With your support, we submitted over 18,000 pages of testimony and mobilized hundreds of people to show up to testify in-person at the state capitol. We also recently hosted our biennial grassroots advocacy day, LGBTQ+ Equality Day at the Capitol, which brought together over 150 LGBTQ+ community members and allies to engage with legislators on the issues facing our community.

There has never been a more important time to get involved in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality. Your support will help ensure we have the resources we need to continue building a more welcoming, fair, and inclusive Wisconsin.
