Since 1971, Family Tree Clinic has been cultivating a healthy community through comprehensive sexual health care and education. We serve over 20,000 people each year.

We believe health care is a human right. We never turn anyone away for an inability to pay. We center people most marginalized by major health care systems. 81% of our patients are LGBTQIA+, 30% are BIPOC, and 38% live below the federal poverty level.

We believe in the power of community. Our clinic is not just a healthcare provider; it's a healing space where people come to receive joyful and affirming care and education.

This Give Out Day, we need to raise $20,000. Your gift supports everyone from students and sex educators to patients and medical providers who are part of the Family Tree community.

At Family Tree, we believe that Pride can be expressed through celebration, joy, and being in community.

In 2009, we launched a LGBTQ Health Access Initiative to respond to the queer and trans communities’ needs to fill a critical gap in affirming care. In 2015, we launched an informed consent hormone care program that was the first of its kind in the Twin Cities. Now, informed consent is the standard for hormone care. From 2009 to 2025, our LGBTQ patient population grew from 9% to over 81%, meaning that more queer and trans patients were able to access care.

From LGBTQ+ inclusive sex education to gender affirming care offered through an informed consent model, we’re cultivating education and health care spaces where everyone can show up as their full selves.
