Lesbian Health Fund

Every person should have access to safe and appropriate healthcare, based on quality scientific research and provided in a safe environment where they can be open about their lives.  Founded in 1992, the Lesbian Health Fund is the only research fund in the world solely dedicated to the unique health needs of LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people.

Since its inception, LHF has awarded more than $1 million to fund lesbian health research and is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ women & nonbinary people until our communities have the same health care and outcomes as everyone else.

Your donation to LHF helps researchers ask important, unanswered questions about the health and wellbeing of our community. We annually invest ~5% of our donations back into the organization and commit to never exceeding more than 20% in administrative fees. 

Some examples of the impact of your donation include:

1. $15 fosters community by financing our website for one month
2. $30 celebrates diverse stories in research by compensating a participant for an interview
3. $250 powers large-scale studies in our community by purchasing research software for an online survey
4. $1,000 invests in community-based research by providing an honorarium for a community advisory board
5. $5,000 advances our communities health by answering another critical research question

As a project of GLMA, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, your charitable contribution to LHF is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Donors receive an end-of-year receipt for tax purposes. GLMA's public financial records, required for non-profit status by the IRS, can be found on GuideStar.
