The Pescadero Schools Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) has been active since 2017. We are a middle and high school student-driven group that was focused on peer-support and educational outreach. Our focus is to create an encouraging community for LGBTQI+ youth at Pescadero Middle and High School. Our geographically isolated, rural community can create a number of barriers to community support and education for our queer youth. We respond to this bycreating robust, welcoming, and educational community for and queer youth or ally in our community.

In the 2024-2025 school year we set goals for educational outreach and visibility in our community. We raise the the progress pride flag for the months of October and June on the school's flagpole in order to increase visibility and support for our LGBTQI+ school community, we organize study trips for the GSA members to visit LGBTQI-focused groups in the bay area to build community outside of Pescadero. We also curate an LGBTQI+ section of the Social Justice Library at Pescadero Middle and High School. We also educate the two elementary school students in our district by reading LGBTQI+ books to the younger students and introducing them to Pride Month with a Pescadero Pride Parade.

Our main goal with the Give Out campaign is to increase our youth leadership capabilities and make connections with other GSA and LGBTQI+ youth groups across the nation. We would like to fundraise enough money to send our GSA youth leaders to a LGBTQI+ National Youth Leadership Conference.
