Every day along the Jersey Shore, thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals and those who love them face unique challenges simply for being who they are or standing beside those they care about. From discrimination and bullying to isolation, misunderstanding, and mental health struggles, the pain caused by intolerance is real and far-reaching. But so is the power of support, education, and finding community. 

PFLAG Jersey Shore Leading With Love 

PFLAG Jersey Shore is more than an organization — we’re a community of care, courage, and connection.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to promote the well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and allies through support, education, and advocacy. Since our founding in 2004, we’ve stood as a beacon of hope and understanding for those navigating the journey of identity, acceptance, and belonging.

Through monthly support meetings across Monmouth and Ocean Counties, we offer safe, welcoming spaces where people can ask questions, share their stories, and receive compassionate guidance around LGBTQ+ issues. But our work doesn’t stop there. We proudly:

• Sponsor and participate in educational and cultural events throughout the year to promote visibility and inclusion.

• Partner with Ocean Partnership for Children to host youth support meetings for LGBTQ+ individuals ages 13–18 in Ocean County.

• Collaborate with Monmouth Cares to provide the same for LGBTQ+ youth in Monmouth County.

• Offer monthly peer support meetings for LGBTQ+ individuals, loved ones, and allies throughout our region.

• Provide organizational training seminars that foster more inclusive workplaces, schools, and communities.

As an all-volunteer organization, PFLAG Jersey Shore relies entirely on membership dues and generous donations to sustain our work. Your contributions help us cover essential costs — from insurance and literature to speaker fees, outreach, and technical support — all of which are vital to keeping our programs running and our impact growing.
