The Queer Cultural Center (QCC) promotes social justice through the artistic and financial development of queer art and culture. Queer Cultural Center stewards artists whose programs nourish, connect, and mobilize trans & queer communities in San Francisco and its diaspora.

Founded in 1992 by LGBTQ2S+ Civil Rights activists and artists in response to artistic censorship, QCC is one of the nation’s oldest and strongest LGBTQ2S+ arts services and presenting organizations. QCC has served as an incubator for hundreds of artists, collectives, and organizations who have inspired broad cultural impact through their own work, fostering the artistic and financial development of a strong and diverse LGBTQ2S+ arts community in the SF Bay Area. Since our founding, QCC has curated and produced 27 month-long National Queer Arts Festivals (NQAF) featuring over 2,750 LGBTQ2S+ artists in more than 1,250 different arts events including Bill T. Jones, Alice Walker, Robert Rauschenberg, Ester Hernanez, Adrienne Rich, Marga Gomez, Justin Chin, Cherrie Moraga and Dorothy Allison.

But we don't just train artists and present their work, we also provide vital services to some of your favorite queer and trans Bay area arts organizations! To date, our arts services program has enabled more than 55 Bay Area LGBTQ2S+ arts organizations to raise over $9,750,000. We offer our arts and fiscal sponsorship services to individuals and organizations that have been historically under-resourced, including Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits, ABO Comix, Still Here SF, the SF Trans March, and Valerie Troutt Projects - just to name a few. QCC’s arts services support the next generation of emerging LGBTQ2S+ artists to develop, finance, and stage original work addressing emerging cultural issues. Some organizations that have grown out of QCC's support include Fresh Meat Productions/Sean Dorsey Dance, the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project and RADAR Productions.

You can find out more about our programs and see archived festivals on QueerCulturalCenter.org.

Help make sure we continue to have diverse queer and trans artists in the Bay Area by making a donation to QCC !
