Rainbow Street

Rainbow Street is an international protection organization for LGBTQ people in the Middle East & North Africa. 

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, there has been a 2.5x increase in the demand for our LGBTQ services. Our queer and trans clients cannot turn to their families or religious communities for support, and our response struggles to keep pace. We need your help to share the food, shelter, and supplies they need to survive these troubled times. 

What we do

Shelter

Some needs can’t wait. For the most vulnerable LGBTQ clients, safe and stable shelter is a necessary bridge to a life of security, dignity, and self-determination. Rainbow Street is committed to fulfilling this urgent need for as many struggling LGBTQ people as we can.  

Navigation

For LGBTQ people in danger, it’s hard to know where to go or who to trust, especially when service providers can’t safely identify themselves as LGBTQ-friendly. Rainbow Street fills the gap by connecting  queer and trans clients with the service providers who can competently and discreetly address the unique needs of queer and trans people.

Peer support

We pair LGBTQ people who cannot be fully out and are struggling with their identity with the peer support they need. For many queer and trans people, being heard, appreciated, and cared for can be a matter of life and death.
