Welcome to SOJOURN - The Southern Jewish Resource Network for Gender & Sexual Diversity!

SOJOURN empowers communities to advance and celebrate gender and sexual diversity across the South.

Help SOJOURN Build Queer Jewish Community in Nashville

For 25 years, SOJOURN has helped LGBTQ+ Jews across the South find connection, visibility, and belonging. This year, SOJOURN is expanding that work in Nashville.

At a time when LGBTQ+ communities across the South continue to face increasing isolation and hostility, visible queer Jewish representation matters deeply. Nashville Pride creates an opportunity for SOJOURN to show up publicly, build relationships, support local Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities, and help create affirming space for queer Jews who may not otherwise see themselves represented.

For many people, Pride is more than a celebration — it is a chance to feel recognized, welcomed, and connected. SOJOURN’s presence helps make that possible.

And this work is about more than one weekend.

SOJOURN’s investment in Nashville is part of a larger commitment to strengthening LGBTQ+ Jewish life throughout the South. Through Pride engagement, relationship-building, and continued collaboration with local leaders and organizations, SOJOURN is helping lay the foundation for longer-term community support and connection.

Over the past 25 years, SOJOURN has:

  • Helped Southern Jewish communities build stronger relationships with LGBTQ+ and interfaith communities

  • Created LGBTQ+ resource guides in Atlanta and Houston featuring more than 50 organizations

  • Organized Atlanta Pride participation that brought together more than 500 marchers as the largest Jewish Pride contingent outside of Israel

  • Supported Welcoming Communities projects in Birmingham, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi

  • Convened Jewish Professionals for Rainbow Youth Summit programming

  • Helped lead the Thrive Coalition, connecting 366 Jewish U.S. organizations advocating for trans and LGBQ+ inclusion

Now, SOJOURN is bringing that experience and community-building work to Nashville.

Funds raised through Give OUT Day will support:

  • Staff travel and lodging

  • Pride outreach and engagement

  • Community relationship-building

  • Resource development and distribution

  • Ongoing follow-up and organizing efforts beyond Pride

If you have experienced the impact of SOJOURN in Atlanta, you understand why this work matters. The sense of belonging, visibility, and community that SOJOURN has helped create in Atlanta should be possible for queer Jews throughout the South.

Your support helps make that future possible.

By investing in Nashville, you are helping expand affirming Jewish LGBTQ+ visibility, strengthen Southern community connections, and ensure that queer Jews across the South know they are not alone.

Help SOJOURN continue building a stronger, more connected Southern LGBTQ+ Jewish community.
