St. John's MCC

St. John's MCC is a group of people who follow the teachings of Jesus. Although a Christian Church everyone of all faiths, or just questioning, is welcome. Inclusion at St. John’s MCC is evident in many aspects across our congregation; including racial diversity with people of European, African, Asian, Hispanic, and Native American heritage; and wide gender diversity. We welcome people from all socioeconomic strata. Our congregation ranges from infants in arms to young adult to middle aged to vibrant members in their 70s and 80s. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, straight, and questioning are all welcome to worship and minister with us. 

One of our key ministries is the operation of two (2) overnight drop-in shelters for the unhoused in Raleigh, NC. On any given night there may be up to 150 guests combined between the two shelters. Pets are welcome as are all genders. In addition to nightly shelter, mail services are offered to those guests who do not have a mailing address. Staff members also can connect guests to other recourses that may be helpful. 

There is great joy when a guest can transition from homelessness to having a place to call home. We've seen this happen time and time again. In fact we've named the shelters the Bryant Center in memory of a member who made just such a transition.  

At our our ministry facility we open ours doors Monday through Thursday for several hours to welcome anyone who needs a respite during the day. 

St. John's provides opportunities for spiritual growth and discipleship as well as many events & ongoing small groups where we just get to know each other better.

Our regular worship opportunities include our 10 AM Sunday worship experience, both in person and streamed online, Wednesday night in-person programming beginning at 6p and various online worship opportunities throughout the week.
