Transpire OK

Transpire Oklahoma, Inc., (Transpire OK) began organizing in October of 2018. We were birthed out of a need to fill gaps in community support, education, and advocacy for transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive folks in Oklahoma. The organization is made up of trans and non-binary individuals dedicated to creating a safer environment for their community.

Transpire OK envisions a day when equity for all individuals is a reality. Our organization is working to achieve the following goals:

1. Dispel stereotypes and myths about gender.

2. Promote health and well-being.

3. Foster independence and self-esteem.

4. Facilitate social interaction and involvement in community.


Transpire OK’s first community action was the creation of our program Transcribe, a legal assistance program that provides support, education, and assistance with fees for individuals working to access legal name and gender marker changes. With continued funding, Transpire OK is working to incorporate new programs and extend geographic reach to all of Oklahoma. Accordingly, the organization will work to serve all individuals on the gender spectrum who identify as transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive.

Upcoming programming

Transcript – Assistance with the cost of appointments, medications, and lab tests. This program will also support in-house injection and hormone replacement therapy clinics through volunteer support.

Transformative – Education by the trans community for the trans community and our allies.

Transfiguration – Professional grooming, make-up services and training for folks who want help with gender expression.

Transparent – Community support for individuals seeking gender affirmation treatment(s), appointments, and events.
