API Equality-LA is an LGBTQ rights and racial justice organization building grassroots community power in Asian Pacific Islander (API) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities in the greater Los Angeles area through community organizing, advocacy, and public education. API Equality-LA’s mission is to empower API communities to achieve LGBTQ, racial, and social justice.
Founded in 2005, API Equality-LA is a critical space for the API LGBTQ community to seek acceptance, practice collective care, and build grassroots power to advance issues that affect our most vulnerable.
This year, we are fundraising $15,000 to continue our work fostering community and building leaders. We are also raising funding for gender affirming care packages created by Project Q, a Black-led nonprofit salon and community center providing services to homeless LGBTQIA+ youth in Los Angeles.
