Camp Silver, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Gainesville, FL dedicated to supporting gender‑expansive youth and their families through connection, care, and community. We offer welcoming support groups for parents, youth, and siblings, as well as a book club for adults and young readers. Our community events, picnics, hikes, family‑friendly gatherings, and other moments of togetherness, create opportunities for families to meet, share experiences, and build supportive relationships. We also help connect families with the resources they need.

As a nonprofit, we collaborate with affirming organizations across Gainesville and throughout Florida, and we partner with local businesses that uplift our community. We also bring our travelling little library directly to families, offering resources for parents raising gender‑expansive kids, stories with gender‑expansive characters for children and teens, and books written by gender‑expansive authors.

Fundraising to grow in a way that is thoughtful, sustainable, and responsive to the families we serve.

Looking ahead, we are focusing on steady, sustainable growth that reflects the needs of our community. Many of our youth want to participate in sports, yet opportunities in Florida are limited, so we are fundraising to create basketball and soccer teams designed specifically for gender‑expansive youth. We also hope to include 17‑ and 18‑year‑olds in our programs, offering support as they prepare for the future while staying connected to a community that understands them. Our support groups are at capacity, and we aim to expand them and offer remote support through Zoom community meetings and D&D sessions for youth, especially for families living in areas with fewer resources or outside the Gainesville area.

We are also working to grow art and music programs that give gender‑expansive youth space for expression, creativity, and connection. One of our long‑term goals is to expand our camp from a one‑week day-camp into a sleepaway camp for gender-expansive youth across Florida, creating a place where they can experience joy, belonging, and the freedom of a true camp experience. To make these goals possible, we are actively raising funds to grow in a way that is thoughtful, sustainable, and responsive to the families we serve.
