The Venture Out Project

The Venture Out Project provides a safe and fun way for members of the Queer, Trans and LGBTQ+ community to get out into the woods and experience the beauty of nature.  We believe that venturing out provides us an opportunity for fun, friendship, leadership, community, and self-reflection.  There are many barriers to entry for queer people when it comes to backpacking, skiing, hiking, canoeing, and more.  We are very beginner friendly and support people of all levels of (in)experience.  For many, TVOP is the first time our participants meet other trans and queer people and the bonds that form last well beyond our trips.
