You're at this page because you know me but you might not know why I care so much about APIE-LA and why I'm raising money:

Why APIE-LA

• For me, APIE-LA is a space where I can feel whole, where feelings and trauma is centered, where queerness is allowed! I'm often afraid I'm not queer enough to be in APIE-LA but I always feel welcome and grateful to be able to be a cis-woman ally to APIE-LA's base which is majority trans and gender non conforming.
• APIE-LA is the only staffed queer and trans Asian American organization in Southern California - so many organizations have had to close over the years due to lack of funding, not lack of need
• I've been lucky enough to have found a community through APIE-LA and continue meet people like me who have been searching for a queer, trans, and Asian American community for years - I'm always touched by how much we are really needed.

Why now?

• A third of organizations in LA closed during the 2008 recession, I'm fundraising so that APIE-LA can stay open, create spaces for Queer and Trans Asian American folks in SoCal. So many QTAPI organizations have closed over the years, it really matters that we exist.
