You + Us + Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that works to connect trans people to the resources they need to survive and thrive. This hotline is the only peer-support service that operates across the U.S. and Canada where all the operators are also trans. Trans Lifeline is also unique in that they never ask the police to intervene in the lives of their callers unless requested by the caller themselves. In addition to providing the helpline for mental health support, Trans Lifeline also provides Microgrant funding for trans individuals to legally change their name and/or gender alongside specialized support for trans people who are incarcerated or detained.  This giving season, Trans Lifeline is prioritizing Black, Indigenous and People of Color and again competing in the Horizons Foundation Give OUT Day, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ community.  The organization who raises the most unique donations of $10 or more during the month wins an extra $10,000 to use in their lifesaving efforts.

Trans Lifeline is run by and for trans people: Trans Lifeline is a grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community. Save your receipts, contributions made to the Trans Lifeline are tax deductible!

In addition to ongoing financial contributions made to The Trevor Project and The Okra Project, this year 70 Knots would like to highlight and assist Trans Lifeline as they build out their Microgrants program, making HRT, counseling and the ID change process directly accessible to those in need.
