End Youth Homelessness Fundraiser

LGBTQ+ youth are disproportionately affected by homelessness due to family rejection, systemic inequities, and a lack of affirming services, as evidenced by data published by the Journal of Adolescent Health, the Housing Forward Taskforce, and the Trevor Project, which noted that LGBTQ+ affirming youth comprise only 8% of the country yet represent 40% of the overall homeless youth in America.

Dallas Hope Charities' "Hope to Finally Home" program is the solution to the puzzle of homelessness in the LGBTQ+ young adult community! It's goal is to break the cycle of youth homelessness, make it a one-time event in a young person's life, and give them the fresh start they deserve!

At the heart of this program is the Dallas Hope Center, the only transitional living home and transformational life program for LGBTQIA+ young adults located in Dallas County. 

It combats the high levels of negativity, discrimination, and depression by being a place where we can engage, mentor, and serve as the supportive family that many kids did not have. 

For up to 12 months, the Hope Center provides residents with a safe place to sleep, food, case management services, free weekly mental health therapy, job training referrals, and a structured life skills program, in which residents learn essential skills, such as cooking, budgeting, and job readiness.

Our residents do not just sit idly by "hoping" for better days, they create their own "hope" by owning their life and working toward their vision of their ideal life! 

WITH YOUR HELP we can make sure that The Hope Center continues to graduate young people with the skills and mental resilience to live independently along with a career that pays them a living wage so they can permanently break the cycle of homelessness!!

If we don't do something NOW, then someone who is 18 or 19 years old and homeless, lacking skills and job training, faces a LIFETIME of CONTINUED HOMELESSNESS.
