It’s my birthday (or was). And instead of gifts, drinks, or maybe you just need to repay me for helping you with comp tickets for all these years, I’m asking for something that really matters to me.

I’m raising money for Richmond Triangle Players—a place I’ve poured my heart into and a theatre that’s been telling bold, funny, complicated, beautiful queer stories since 1993.

This year, we’re staring down a tough challenge. Due to sudden federal policy shifts, RTP could lose $30,000 in annual funding—money we’ve counted on for over a decade.

And I’ll be honest: that’s not an easy number to recover. But we’re not folding. Not when there are still stories to tell and artists to support.

So here’s where you come in: I’m asking for your help to raise $1,500 as a birthday fundraiser.

Whatever you can give—$10, $50, $500—makes a real impact. It helps us keep the lights on, pay our artists fairly, and hold space for stories that reflect the world as it really is: diverse, messy, honest, and worth fighting for.

And because no good campaign is complete without a little motivation…If we hit the goal, I’ll post a truly embarrassing video from my teenage years or maybe a monologue from TORCH SONG or that embarrassing rapping video from BARE: A POP OPERA. Yes, they exist and I’ll do it for the cause.

Whether you’ve worked with RTP, seen a show, or just believe in the value of queer art, I’d be so grateful for your support.

Thanks for being in my corner—and for helping me turn a birthday into something that can actually change lives.
