Savannah’s queer youth community lacks a safe space for youth to meet others experiencing the same challenges of being queer in a heteronormative society. FCPC’s youth programming seeks to connect young people together in a setting that allows them to speak openly, learn about queer history, create art as an outlet for stress and trauma, and develop social skills.
This is incredibly important in the current political climate that has targeted transgender Youth.
Donating to this fundraiser will help the Pride Center cover costs for snacks and beverages, art and project supplies, and our wonderful youth coordinator Michele.
In 2023, The First City Pride Center aims to focus on connecting with local schools to provide councilors with safe space and affirmation training, and support GSA's and reach more youth in need.

The week of Savannah Pride, FCPC’s weekly group will be held during the Pride Parade in the Hyatt Regency as a Parade viewing party. This event is intended to provide a chaperoned viewing opportunity and alcohol free experience for youth who wish to participate in Pride activities. The event will be attended by our Youth Facilitator and Youth Committee Members.
We have also invited Jason Rodriguez (POSE) to host Youth Vouge Dance Workshops and a Mini Ball for Saturday's Youth Experience!
This fundraiser aims to cover costs for our Youth Program and Jason's wonderful services to provide more opportunities for our LGBTQ+ youth in Savannah to be afforded a place where they feel they belong.
With these events, FCPC's Youth Group is expected to grow, allowing us to expand our programming and opportunities with initiatives such as outreach to local schools to create or assist GSA's and the creation of a Youth Leadership Conference in 2023.
