Kaitlyn's Fundraiser for Maven Youth

With the current state of the world, there is a lack of support for the LGBTQ+ community and its youth. Many of these youth don't have a space they are fully accepted and feel comfortable learning new skills anymore so they need a space where they can express themselves more than ever. Maven Youth summer camp does just that. 

Maven Youth aims to create opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth to bridge the gap between the LGBTQ+ community and the tech industry. They host summer camps where youth can explore the careers in tech and learn new skills while being taught by fellow youth leaders. These camps ensure youth from all different backgrounds, identities, and classes have the chance to step into the tech field and thrive in a place where they feed accepted and comfortable to share their passions. However, with the lack of funding due to the state of the political climate, Maven Youth needs extra funding to support the youth and ensure they have the materials they need to find success. I aim to raise an extra $1,000 for this.

To me, Maven is more than just a summer camp. It's a community that encourages youth to learn and make mistakes so they can grow from them. Maven Youth is more than just an organization. It's a place for LGBTQ+ youth to find their community and take those first steps towards their future goals. 

They support our hopes for the future so we have to support them in that journey!
