Marcus's Give OUT Day Fundraiser

Family and friends, 

I'm fundraising for the third year in a row for API Equality-LA! Throughout my time in Los Angeles, APIELA has been central to my professional development and how I have sought to contribute to social change. Its mission to empower API LGBTQ people to live and thrive has always resonated with me.

 This year, I am challenging myself to raise $1,000 for APIELA. Our organizational goal is $20,000, which will go to support outreach events (including digital gatherings), community organizing efforts, and public education. Your support will add to the community power in LGBTQ Asian and Pacific Islander communities throughout the greater Los Angeles area. 

In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, I'm also encouraging my friends and family to match their donation for APIELA to a Black Queer organization either in Los Angeles (such as Project Q) or in their own city. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Nina Pop and too many others are a reminder of how dangerous and enduring anti-Black racism is in our country. Through our collective efforts, we can continue to fight injustice.
