Welcome to my page!

Every day we have different choices we can make about how to create a more equitable world. Every month, I make the choice to support QWOCMAP's efforts through a recurring donation. Every month, I make this choice by serving on QWOCMAP's board of directors where I endeavor to lift up QWOCMAP's mission and expand its impact.

I invite you to join me in investing in QWOCMAP with a donation via its Give OUT Day campaign.

Over the past 20+ years, QWOCMAP has created a community of over 400 queer and trans women of color filmmakers and nonbinary filmmakers who have made their creative visions come alive.

Here are ways that your donations support QWOCMAP's work:

1) Queer Women of Color Film Festival = An annual three-day free film festival in June showcasing films made by queer and trans women of color and nonbinary folks of color. This year's festival was held in-person since the start of the pandemic. QWOCMAP worked hard to make the festival accessible by following various protocols that supported our community's collective health (requiring attendees to be vaccinated and show proof a a negative COVID test, requiring masks indoors -providing KN95 masks for those who did not have them,

2) Critical Juncture  = This is an expansion of QWOCMAP’s Filmmaker Training Program. Critical Juncture program takes the filmmaking training work even further by ensuring access to production camera packages, post-production laptop packages, artist fees, and advanced training and industry mentorship. It creates technology access, bridges digital divides, and provides artist fees to support the careers of filmmakers. Through mentorship and coaching, artistically rigorous master classes, production and post-production packages, LBTQ+ BIWOC can receive support as emerging and early-career filmmakers.

3) Equity work = This is work you may not be aware that QWOCMAP does. QWOCMAP staff are involved accessibility and equity work not just in the Bay Area but globally. They lend their wisdom and expertise to how community systems function so that historically marginalized folks (BIPOC, LGBTQ, disabled, etc.) are not left behind.

So, here's how you can help QWOCMAP's reach its organizational goal of raising $25,000 by June 30:

--Donate $25 or more to QWOCMAP during Pride month (June 1 - June 30) that will count towards my personal goal for Give OUT Day. We are hoping to get 1000 people to do so.

--Encourage people you know to donate by sharing the link to my page!

--Join QWOCMAP's $10 Brigade by making a donation of $10 (if you make a donation of more than $10 you are an Honorary Brigade member).

**Donations $10-$49 = receive a fun, personalized thank you from me where I may share a joke or a pun.

**Donations $50 or more = receive a personalized MUSICAL thank you. Now, can I sing? Absolutely not,  but wowzers will I be giving it an E for effort in my special thanks to you! And it's totally fine to request a non-musical thank you. I understand that some people have enough music in their lives.

Just know that any and all donations you make via my page will support QWOCMAP's mission and vision by funding workshop expenses, the film festival, and much needed equity work in the arts.

Thank you!
