GiveOUT Day - Pride Month Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Caitlin and I live in the city of Richmond, Virginia. I moved here for college and stayed after graduating making the community here part of my life. Through the endless love and support of those around me I am proud to be out as a bi woman. Many of those I know and love are also a part of the LGBTQ+ community and I see how important it is that we work towards achieving equality and protecting its members every single day. 

 This past summer I got involved with volunteering with VA's LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, Equality VA, and dedicated as many Tuesdays as I could well into 2020 by calling and emails residents across the state for various reasons from voter information or to ask them to contact their state rep to push for LGBTQ+ protections.  They do vital work to ensure the community is protected and they work to get resources out to those who need them. In the past few months they have gotten our state government to pass important LGBTQ+ protections but the fight isn't over. Help them continue their mission and achieve even more goals through a donation!

I know June is an important month for many of us as we love to show our Pride but many events that normally would be taking place over the next few months have been cancelled due to public safety concerns over COVID 19. And as we live in a very uncertain and tumultuous time I understand that the act of giving any amount is a very powerful statement of support. 

My goal is to raise $1000 by GiveOUT Day which is June 30th. I will be raffling off items to raise funds and will try to host some virtual events that I will keep this page updated on. Feel free to reach out to me personally as I am always happy to discuss Equality VA.
