HOME is within US #BLMP

Hey, my Loves,

As you all know, I live by the concept "HOME is within US".

As Black Trans & Queer Migrants, we lose our homes in more ways than one. When we are forced to leave our countries of birth and seek refuge and safety in faraway lands, we lose our physical homes that we were raised in. We lose connection to families and friends that have shaped our upbringing, and we also lose cultures and traditions that are core to who we are. 

The immigration journey is scary when you are in a place where you do not know anyone, and often are not prepared enough for what the requirements are to get started, let alone to reach stability. 

However, the existence of organizations like BLMP changes that experience. You can go from isolation and fear to Hope and be excited about life again. 

Finding your Tribe, people with similar backgrounds and a shared pathway to stability in a foreign land, is life-saving. It challenges you to shift the mindset of what family and home are. 

I found both of those in BLMP.

So, I am here encouraging folks to help me support BLMP to continue being a family and a home to as many Black Trans & Queer Migrants as possible. 

Please help me reach this goal, to add to the amazing work this organization continues to do and the lives transformed.
