We are here for family, friends and allies of LGBTQ+ people, because the more they understand and support their LGBTQ+ loved ones, the safer and stronger this community will be.
PFLAG Bowie has been part of my life for about 2 years now. I have been leading as President and our chapter has grown in activities, connections and members! The support group gives people a chance to ask questions, express their thoughts and worries with each other, and gather ways to be a stronger ally.
PFLAG Bowie continues to teach me how to be a better ally. Being part of PFLAG Bowie has emboldened me to have the tough conversations with the cis, straight people in my life about the myths and lies about LGBTQ+ people, and how to better support and advocate for their loved ones.
The money we raise will go towards purchasing education materials to hand out for free; operating our support group for family, friends and allies; hosting community/social events; and contributing to outreach opportunities.
