Sol's Fundraiser for BLMP!

Hi Community,

This Pride, I am fundraising on behalf of the Black LGBTQ Migrant Project (BLMP). BLMP is my political and organizing home, and since discovering this community three years ago, it has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of liberation, belonging, and collective care.

At BLMP, my identities as a Black queer first-generation migrant are not just accepted, they are celebrated. I have found a space where my full self can exist in community, where my stories and experiences are understood, and where I can build alongside others working toward a world where Black LGBTQIA+ migrants are free, safe, and thriving.

BLMP has shown me the power of organizing rooted in love, joy, and solidarity. Through political education, community building, and collective action, BLMP creates space for our communities to imagine and build a more liberated future.

This Pride, I’m asking you to support BLMP’s work. More than ever, I am reminded that the first Pride was a riot. A collective act of resistance led by Black and brown trans people, queer and gender-nonconforming people, and those who refused to accept a world that denied their humanity. Pride has always been rooted in organizing, liberation, and the fight for our communities to live freely. Supporting BLMP means investing in that legacy by supporting Black LGBTQIA+ migrants who continue to build power, create community, and fight for a future where all of us can thrive.
