Since 1990, LYG has been more than a program—it’s been a safe harbor. We’ve welcomed LGBTQIA+ youth across Kentuckiana into spaces where they’re not just accepted, they’re celebrated. And we’ve done it all for free.
As Mentors, you know exactly what it means when a young person finally finds a space where they can breathe freely. Your support doesn’t just keep the lights on. It powers the relationships, programs, and leadership opportunities that give youth a future they can claim as their own.
What You’re Fueling
Every group, every gathering, every joyful moment at LYG is funded by community gifts. Here’s what your support makes possible:
Affirming spaces for ages 5–24, including our Junior, Tween, and Teen Groups.
Targeted support for Trans & Non-Binary youth and youth of the global majority.
Leadership development through LYG Rising and the Youth Leadership Council.
Cultural celebrations like Pride Prom, Empowerment Camp, and the New Year’s Eve Lock-In—all youth-led, always free.
A statewide GSA Network with workshops, organizing tools, and the annual KY GSA Summit.
And the digital side? From our active Discord server to the Beyond Labels Resource Closet and Kentucky’s largest LGBTQ+ lending library, youth have year-round access to resources they need.
What’s Next?
In 2025, we’re growing again. The KY GSA Network is expanding beyond Jefferson County, leadership training is getting a boost, and we’re bringing LYG’s mission to more rural communities.
The Mentors Team has a front-row seat to this change—and the chance to power it.
Here’s How to Help

Make it personal. Tell people why LYG matters to you—and why you mentor.
LYG has always been free for youth, but never free to run. Your support ensures that mentorship, community, and joy are accessible to every young person who walks through our doors—or logs into our Discord.
You’re not just fundraising. You’re passing the torch.
