Since 1990, LYG has been a lifeline for LGBTQIA+ youth across Kentuckiana. As the South’s oldest youth-serving LGBTQIA+ organization, we provide free, affirming spaces where young people can be themselves without judgment.

At LYG every program and event is free! Pride Prom, Empowerment Camp, and the New Year’s Eve Lock-In are accessible to all and our Youth plan and implement these events alongside adults through our youth-adult partnership model. We also maintain an active Discord, the Beyond Labels Resource Closet, and Kentucky’s largest LGBTQ+ lending library.
In 2023 the Youth Leadership Council organized against KY SB150 and launched statewide GSA (Gender/Sexuality Alliance) workshops that culminated in the Rainbow Revolution and an in-person KY GSA Summit on October 5. In 2025 we will expand our KY GSA Network beyond Jefferson County, deepen leadership training, and strengthen rural outreach.
