Badge of Pride

Badge of Pride is a new 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which aims to collect and activate artifacts from LGBTQIA+ history to inform, enrich and engage the power of the contemporary Queer experience. With a strong commitment to preserving and celebrating the rich legacy of the Queer community, Badge of Pride seeks to create an inclusive and engaging environment which fosters understanding, inspiration, and social change.

Badge of Pride has the potential to make a significant impact on various levels, reaching individuals and communities. Here are some key ways in which our work will create lasting change:

1. Preserving Queer History: The collection of LGBTQIA+ artifacts plays a vital role in preserving the diverse stories, struggles, and triumphs of the Queer community throughout history. By safeguarding these artifacts, we ensure that future generations have access to an authentic representation of Queer experiences, fostering a sense of identity, pride, and resilience.
2. Education and Awareness: Through the creation of a significant exhibit (opening June 2025) in partnership with a museum in North Texas, we will raise awareness and promote a deeper understanding of Queer history and its relevance to contemporary society. Along the way, we will be hosting Queer history pop-ups and building public education programs. By illuminating the past, Badge of Pride encourages individuals to challenge stereotypes, promote inclusivity, and foster acceptance. Queer history is American history!
3. Engaging the Power of the Queer Community: By amplifying the voices and experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals, Badge of Pride provides a platform for the Queer community to share our stories and celebrate our contributions to society. This validation and recognition has a transformative effect on individuals, delivering a sense of pride, self-acceptance, and community.
4. Social Impact and Advocacy: Our work extends beyond preserving artifacts; it also aims to inspire meaningful social change. By engaging with contemporary Queer experiences and highlighting the progress made and ongoing struggles in LGBTQIA+ rights, we aim to inspire advocacy and activism. By showcasing the resilience and achievements of the Queer community, Badge of Pride becomes a catalyst for social progress and encourages a more inclusive society for all.
5. Intersectionality and Inclusivity: Badge of Pride recognizes and celebrates the intersectionality within the Queer community, acknowledging the diverse experiences and challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals of different races, ethnicities, genders & gender expression, and abilities. We strive to foster a more inclusive understanding of Queer history, promoting unity, empathy, and solidarity.
