Equality Texas is putting up a valiant fight in the most hostile landscape for LGBTQ+ people in this country. 

There were 140 anti-LGBTQ+ bills filed in the Lone Star State and our community was able to defeat 95% of them. 

Unfortunately the bills that did pass will create an even more hostile environment for LGBTQ+ Texans. Our stories will be erased from library shelves, trans young people will lack access to life-saving healthcare, diversity, equity and inclusion programs will be dismantled from college universities, and religious unlicensed chaplains will do the work of social workers. 

Fearmongering about trans and LGB people has taken its toll. This political theater is incredibly dangerous and has created a culture of fear throughout the state.
