I’m raising money for API Equality-LA, an organization that has meant a lot to me here in Los Angeles. API Equality-LA builds grassroots community power in API LGBTQ communities. The organization is tiny (with 2 staff!) but mighty with a solid volunteer base that works to achieve racial, social, and LGBTQ justice!
In solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, I'm also asking my donors to match their donation to a Black Queer organization either in Los Angeles (such as Project Q) or in their own city. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Nina Pop and too many others are a reminder of how dangerous and enduring anti-Black racism is in our country. It is also a reminder of the work we need to do to dismantle systems of oppression.
Your donation supports API Equality-LA's community gatherings, public education, and community organizing! Give OUT Day is June 30, and donations between June 1 and June 30 count toward my goal.
