Our beloved LGBTQ dance community, Sundance Saloon (where my partner Sheila and I met), needs help paying rent since we’ve had to shut down during the pandemic. Typically we help other groups—raising over $430,000 the past 20 years for orgs such as the LGBT Asylum Project, Transgender Law Center, Openhouse, and PRC.
Your kind giving of just $10 during GiveOUT Day (today, 6/30) will help us win a $10,000 grant for the most individual donors in our category. Right now Sundance is in first place! We’re in a VERY tight race with one other organization in our category, so it would be so awesome if we won.
No more than a $10 donation is needed to qualify. (All donations must be received by 9:00 p.m. on the West coast or before midnight on the East coast.) And if you could also ask your family/friends to donate with a separate credit card, that would be great, since they do check to make sure it’s not the same person giving multiple times. Thank you so much if you’re able and are so moved to help out:

Also if you’d like to catch a glimpse of me and Sheila and some of our other Sundance friends line dancing alone but “together” via a composite video, here’s a new dance that the head of Sundance choreographed in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
It’s to the song “Black Like Me” by Mickey Guyton. (We had just learned it via video a couple of days before, so all of us are a bit shaky, but it was powerful participating.)

Anyway, thanks so much if you’re able to donate and even if you aren’t. I appreciate so much your support of LGBT rights in general.
Love and hugs,
Nikki
