Somos Familia continues to fight for all families!
Magdalia and I have been with Somos for a decade and we have seen firsthand how much our communities continue to need our support.
Unfortunately fighting homophobia, organizing, and advocacy work are not FREE. Friend, I wish it was! Therefore we need your support with whatever contribution you can help us.
We have been through a lot and yet in 2023, Our LGBTQ+ communities are fighting to exist. Somos Familia and other organizations continue to defend our communities and spaces, especially those of color. We are seeing the effect of the bigoted legislation from Florida to expand to the rest of the country.

We need the support of our friends and family to continue to fight with what resources we have. The organization is mostly volunteer-based and our support groups depend on us.

Somos recap...
In 2020, Somos Familia focused on providing COVID-19 relief funds to our community members by providing $500 grants directly to folx in our communities that were going hungry, needed emergency housing assistance, or could not work due to COVID-19 complications.
In 2021, Somos Familia helped restore, recover, and heal our communities through the work of our support groups. We were reaching places across Central and Latin America!
In 2022, Somos began going back into our community's spaces! Through the work of our support groups, Somos was able to rebuild in-person (and virtual) spaces for members of many communities.
