New update
Our work for affordable housing as collided with the work of SC Tenants Union. This year we have pushed and pushed to help mobilize tenant power throughout the state. While we were working to establish an eviction sealing law - our tiny home was moved. The land owner, without cause or communication, had the home removed and has not shared where it is or who moved it. This has been a devastating blow to this specific project.
It has also been, yet another reason, we do the work that we do! Advocating for fair and transparent laws for tenants, equitable access, and safety nets for extenuating circumstances.
We know the housing crisis can't be solved overnight. We also know the value of having a roof over your head, safe place to shower and relax from all the chaos of the world. We will continue the fight for housing - and truly appreciate your continued trust and support!
The need for emergency housing continues to grow for our Transgender Community in South Carolina. We know that housing is an issue that exist beyond gender identity and expression. We also know, many of our siblings are kicked out of their homes, due to someone not understanding, or not wanting to understand, what's going on. The key thing to remember is this, you don't have to understand someone's gender to understand that someone needs a safe home. We want to keep helping in all the ways we can, and we need your help!!! A few years ago, we were donated a tiny home! We had a plan for placing this home and that plan fell through. Finding land has been really tough, but we know it's not impossible. With your help we'll be able to not only get our home placed, we'll be able to start a village and build community! Please donate if you can, share and help us reach our goal of $25,000!
